The Crimean War had the significantly disappointing war, the Battle of Balaclava on October 25, 1852. The British Light Brigade was directed by Lord Cardigan against the Russians. Although the whole brigade was not destroyed, 118 men were killed while 127 of them were wounded. The Charge of the Light Brigade was a tragic event that was was made into a heroic defeat by Alfrd, Lord Tennyson. Tennyson made the loss a honorable loss by describing their efforts and their lack of acknowledgment of the directions made by Cardigan.
The Crimean War began in the 1850s between the Russian EMpire and France. This war was meant to determine which major European Empire has more power to influence certain territores like Palestine. It is sometimes called hte "modern" monflict. There was a conflict with teh holy land in Palestine. Russa wanted authority over the land. Napolean fought in the war. Alfred Tennyson wrote many poems, plays, and novels during the Crimean war. his works reflects the impact of the war upon the Empires. ONe of his works called The Charge of the Light Brigade detailed the charge of British cavalry. It demonstrated the harsh battles and gruesome hostilities that occured during this war. His works symbolizes warfare at its highest point and most tragic.
The Crimean War was a war between Russia and France over the Palestinian Holy places. The war was in the years 1853-1856. The French were attempting to stop the Russians from expanding more into the Black Sea area. The French were aided by the European allies and the Ottoman Empire, which created a force too strong for the Russians to fight against. The Russians failed to take control of the Black Sea area, which would have created military advantages for the country. The Charge of the Light Brigade talks about the English forces attacking the Russians and how deadly the battles were. Tennyson’s works talk about warfare and related ideas, which gives ideas on how disastrous the wars were.
The Crimean War, or the Eastern War, was fought between the Russians and the France, United Kingdom, Kingdom of Sardinia, and Ottoman Empire alliance. The major cause of the war was over land in the Ottoman Empire. This war is significant because it is considered the first modern war due to the introduction of “technical changes.” There were major blunders in the war but it was later ended by the Treaty of Paris.
Lord Tennyson’s “The Charge of the Light Brigade” is a narrative poem about the Crimean War. This poem made the soldiers death appear more regal and noble than it really was.
This war was between Russia on the one hand and the Ottoman Empire, Great Britain, France, and Sardinia on the other. The causes of the conflict was a dispute between Russia and France over the Palestinian holy places.

Also known in Russia as the Eastern War, the Crimena War was fought between Russian Empire on one side and an alliance of France, the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Sardinia against the Ottoman Empire on the other. It was important ebcause it became the first "modern" conflict and "introduced technical changes which affected the future course of warfare." For example, trenches were built.
Lord Tennyson in his poem "half a league" glamorized warfare to satisfy the royalty. He made it seem that the death of a soldier was more noble than it truly was. This underscored the true emotions felt by the individual soldiers that ended up gaining no honor for their death.
The Crimean War was ironicly a war for holy places. It was faught by Russia against France, which had an alliance with the European Allies and the Ottoman Empire. The Crimean War was faught during 1853 through 1856. The Russian's were faced to a stronger power, and the war was ended by the Treaty of Paris. The war had a great impact on future battles because of its great use of new "technical changes." Many new weapons were invented and used in the future.
Alfred Tennyson was inspired to write by the Crimean War. For example, "The Charge of British Cavalry," was one of his great poems. The poem reflects upon the warriors as heroes, which died in honor. Tennyson demonstrates the harsh battles and makes the death of the warriors seem honorable. He makes the death of these warriors seem great, and exagerates on his description.
